5 Easy Ways to Stay Active
I have always been a fairly active person, but once I found out I was pregnant things changed. I have been way more tired than usual and have been lacking the energy and motivation to stick with my routine. By the time I get off of work, the last thing I want to do is workout. However, staying active is a huge priority to me. I’ve had to find easy ways to incorporate some sort of activity into my daily routine that doesn’t make me dread exercise.

Get up and Walk
If you work full time like I do, working out is the last thing you want to do after a long, especially when you’re pregnant. I’ve made it a priority to get up from my desk once an hour and walk around the building. Not only does this help to get more exercise in, I’ve found that it helps my back pain from sitting down all day.
Use Resistance Bands
Resistance bands are one of the best forms of low impact exercises that you can do to stay active. There are so many things you can do with them and they can help to increase your muscle tone. I particularly love using resistance bands because it’s something I can do from home. I’ve had these bands for years. They are extremely inexpensive and they are still going strong, so I highly recommend them. Go on a Hike
Staying active can be a lot more fun when you’re not thinking about exercising. One of the easiest ways to stay active is to find a safe trail, and go on a hike. Be sure to wear good shoes like these ones from Merrell, to keep you stable and steady on the uneven ground.
I am a huge advocate of at home workouts. After all, you’re going to be a new mom in a short few months, so who has time to go to the gym? You want to be able to set habits that are going to help you stay active once baby is here as well. I love watching following along with exercise videos. YouTube has a ton of free videos you can follow along with. I also love doing these prenatal yoga workouts and highly recommend them. Whatever your workout style and budget, there is a video out there for you.
(Sorry mom) Having sex with your spouse is the easiest and most fun ways to stay active during pregnancy. If you’re a first time mom like I am, take advantage of these last few months you have with just you and hubby. Have all the sex you can. You’ll be getting your heart rate up and won’t even think of it as exercise.
